Depart Kampala early morning after breakfast for a 5–6-hour scenic drive westward to Fort Portal, passing through rolling hills, tea plantations, and the unique inselbergs of Mubende.

Visit the legendary Amabere ga Nyinamwiru caves, sacred stalactite formations with a fascinating tale of a beautiful princess whose magical breasts are said to drip milk to this day.
Enjoy a picturesque hike through the Fort Portal Crater Lake field, offering panoramic views and (on clear days) sightings of the Rwenzori Mountains.
Later, transfer to Kibale National Park and check in at your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Begin your day with an early breakfast and head to the Kibale park headquarters for a pre-trek briefing by Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers.
Chimpanzee trekking starts at 8:00 AM and lasts 2–5 hours, depending on chimp movement. Once found, you’ll spend one unforgettable hour watching them play, feed, and interact.
Encounter other primates like the red-tailed monkey, L’Hoest’s monkey, black-and-white colobus, and olive baboons.
Return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation.
In the afternoon, head for a 2-hour walk through Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, a rich birding and primate habitat managed by the local community. Expect to see turacos, kingfishers, and 8 species of monkeys.
Enjoy a cultural encounter with the Bigodi community, visit a local craft center, and learn about traditional practices.

After a leisurely breakfast, start your journey back to Kampala. On the way:
Optional: Stop at Mpanga Tea Estate for a scenic cycling adventure through endless green tea plantations, guided by locals.
Continue the drive and visit the Nakayima Tree in Mubende – an ancient sacred fig tree believed to be over 500 years old. This spiritual site is connected to the Bachwezi demi-gods, with hollow roots representing various ancestral spirits.
After this stop, proceed to Kampala or Entebbe, marking the end of your primate adventure.
